TD Charitable Foundation: Frequently Asked Questions

Corporate Giving | Grants | Sponsorships

This online application form takes some time to complete. Is it worth the effort?

Yes. Most well prepared applicants complete the online application in 30 minutes or less. The important information you provide will help us assess your request fairly and in a timely fashion.

How many times may I apply for a grant?

You may apply as many times as you would like throughout the year, but only one grant will be awarded to an organization in any calendar year.

How will I know that my grant request has been received?

At the end of submission, you will be given the option to create an account or log into an existing account. After creating an account, you will receive e-mail confirmation for your new grant application. Due to the large numbers of requests received, telephone confirmations of individual requests will not be provided.

Who will review my grant application and make the final funding decision?

All applications will be reviewed at the local level with final recommendations by the Foundation's grant committee and approved by the Foundation's Board of Directors.

When are funding decisions made?

Funding decisions will be made in February, May, August and November. All applicants will be informed via mail about their grant application status by the first of the following month.

What is the deadline to submit a grant application?

The Foundation will review grant applications on the following quarterly schedule:
  • Completed applications received by January 31st will be reviewed during February.
  • Completed applications received by April 30th will be reviewed during May.
  • Completed applications received by July 31st will be reviewed during August.
  • Completed applications received by October 31st will be reviewed during November.

Can I explain my proposal in person?

Unfortunately, due to the high volumes of requests, meeting with all the grant applicants is not possible.

When I try to open the application, I receive an error message stating, "My browser is not configured to accept cookies." Why?

If you receive this error message, please contact a member of your organization's IT staff. You may need to adjust your computer's settings in order to access the application.

Can I copy and paste information from a Word document into one of the grant application's text boxes?

Yes. You can copy information from an existing Word document and paste it into the appropriate text box in the application.

I do not have all of the required documents in an electronic format. How can I submit them?

Please contact the Foundation staff via e-mail at CharitableGiving@TDBanknorth.com. You will be contacted with instructions on how to forward these documents to us. Please do not submit grant requests via this e-mail link. Thank you for your cooperation.

Should I print a copy of the grant application?

Yes. A link is provided at the top of the application. We recommend that you print and keep a copy of the application for your own records. However, we ask that you do not send it to us as this may lead to duplicate records.
If you have questions or would like more information, please contact us.
